Alix Delaporte is a French director and screenwriter. She studied at the London School of Economics, where she obtained a master’s degree in contemporary history. Afterwards she studied screenwriting at the prestigious La Fémis, in Paris, while working as a journalist and cameraperson at the CAPA agency, a French press agency. She directed several short movies, and documentaries and wrote several TV series before directing her first feature movie, Angel & Tony in 2011. The movie received three César Award nominations and won two: most promising actress for Clotilde Hesme and most promising actor for Grégory Gadebois. These two actors are reunited in Alix Delaporte’s new film, The Last Hammer Blow, which was selected to compete for the Golden Lion at the 71st Venice International Film Festival, where the lead actor, Romain Paul, won the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best New Young Actor.
