Jacques is an actor who runs away to the country- side to evade his gambling debts and the lowlifes who are determined to collect. He meets Simon,
a tough and wily farmer who corners him in an unusual business relationship. Together they cultivate one of the last remaining cash crops in this rural Québecois community… After a rocky start, the men help each other, and their marijuana plants begin to thrive. Soon another unsuspecting figure stumbles into their lives: a jagged-edged young woman who discovers their activities and is eventually “persuaded” to join their merry band. By the time they reach the winter harvest, outside forces threaten the delicate balance of their little venture.

“Top cast and expert direction. This comedy hits some timely buttons and takes a number of satis- fying twists. A skillful mixture of humor, sentiment and suspense.”

– The Hollywood Reporter

“Funny, relevant, moving and playful. Bad Seeds has the guts and craziness that many productions from Québec had lacked on the big screen in recent years.”
